Talks
Dr Alison Edgar MBE is a UK keynote speaker with four talks: The Intrapreneur Mindset, How to Change Before It’s Too Late, From Castle View to View of the Castle, and Growing Your Own Business. Each one is rewritten for the audience in the room and the problems they bring with them.
What United Farmers said
“Alison adapted her audience address to totally feel like she had been part of our business for some time. Our delegates were still talking about elements of her presentation at 2am the following morning in the bar!”
What does Alison Edgar speak about?
Dr Alison Edgar MBE speaks on four subjects: ownership, through her framework The Intrapreneur Mindset; changing before it’s too late, the subject of her TEDx talk; resilience and self-belief, through her own story from a Clydebank council flat to an MBE; and what it takes to grow a business, from her years coaching entrepreneurs. All four draw on behavioural psychology and thirty years inside businesses, including her time as a top performer at Yellow Pages.
No two events get the same talk. Before every booking Alison and her team learn the client’s business, the audience and what the day needs to change, then rewrite the keynote around that, usually at no extra cost. After her keynote at United Farmers’ annual conference, delegates said it felt as if she had worked there for years.
The talks
Four talks, each a starting point. Alison rewrites every one for the audience, the industry and the problems the room walks in with.
The Intrapreneur Mindset
Her flagship keynote: getting employees to think and act like owners. Three questions that change how a team decides, and the framework behind a £54m result at Haydock Finance.
How to Change Before It’s Too Late
Based on her TEDx talk. Alison had a front-row seat for the downfall of Yellow Pages when the internet arrived; this talk is about spotting the moment to change while there is still time, and taking a team with you.
From Castle View to View of the Castle
Alison’s own story of resilience and self-belief: leaving school with no qualifications, undiagnosed dyslexia, and the mindset that carried her to an MBE, a doctorate and stages around the world.
Growing Your Own Business
From her years coaching entrepreneurs, several of them from start-up to multi-million-pound turnover: what makes a business grow, and the habits of the founders who scale. Built for audiences who each run a business of their own.

Frequently asked questions about Alison's talks
What topics does Alison Edgar speak about?
Every talk is bespoke, so Dr Alison Edgar MBE speaks about whatever the audience needs. Her four talks are the starting points: The Intrapreneur Mindset, on getting employees to think like owners; How to Change Before It’s Too Late, based on her TEDx; From Castle View to View of the Castle, her own story of resilience; and Growing Your Own Business, from her years coaching entrepreneurs. Each is built on behavioural psychology and rewritten for the audience and the event.
Is every talk about The Intrapreneur Mindset?
No. The Intrapreneur Mindset is Alison Edgar’s flagship keynote and the one most corporate clients book, and her other three talks stand on their own. Many clients book her for change, resilience or growth with no mention of the framework; others ask her to thread it through. It depends on what the event needs.
Are the talks delivered off the shelf?
No. The four talks are starting points. Before every event Alison Edgar and her team learn the client’s business, the audience and the outcome the day needs, then rewrite the content around them, usually at no extra cost. Warner Hotels said she took the time to understand their GLOW principles and brought them to life for their people; United Farmers said she felt like part of the business.
Can Alison combine themes in one talk?
Yes, and most bookings do. A sales kick-off might pair motivation with high-performance behaviours; a leadership offsite might pair change with ownership. Alison shapes the content around what the day needs to achieve.
How long is a keynote?
Most of Alison Edgar’s keynotes run 30 to 45 minutes. She fits the slot on offer, from a 20-minute after-dinner talk to a 90-minute session with Q&A or interaction built in.
